Motorola Google Android 3.0 Tablet Unveiled
Motorola Android Honeycomb Tablet – Breaking News!!!
It’s official, Motorola have shown off their Tablet PC, titled the Xoom (pronounced Zoom), and it is up on the Moto website. The first viewings of this device are happening at this very moment at Motorola’s CES press conference.
The tablet looks to be set to rival if not usurp the mighty iPad. It’s running the brand new Android 3.0 Honeycomb on a dual core processor (1GHz each, probably a Tegra 2) with 1Gb of RAM. A front facing camera capable of capturing 720pHD video is included, the touchscreen is slightly larger than the iPad, at 10.1″ with an improved resolution of 1280 x 800. It includes an application to provide wireless media streaming, and even has an HDMI output to pump out 1080p HD to a flatscreen panel, TV or projector.
The release is planned for the first quarter of 2011 in the US, currently with 3G support but Motorola claims it will support 4G LTE on the Verizon US network by the third quarter. No word on the price yet but nonetheless, this tablet looks set to shake some trees!
